Nikolina Santovac (1981) grew up in the beautiful province Dragačevo (Serbia), spent childhood in the mountains, Piva (Montenegro) and the southern slopes of Ovčar (south west Serbia). From mother inherited the creative gift, father narrative virtues and from grandmother traditional spirituality.
She attended social-linguistic high school in Čačak. Graduated Serbian literature and language at the University of Philology in Belgrade. Also, attended master classes of paper theater (Brane Solce, Teatro papelito, Slovenia), shadow theater (Dagmara Żabska, Teatr Figur, Poland) and waldorf theatre (Olivera Todorović, Serbia). She completed training public speaking workshops (Ivan Tomić, an actor), as well as a course of organic agriculture (Dr Peter Swan, Netherlands). Nikolina`s member of the Union Internationale de la Marionnette (UNIMA), a Non-Governmental Organisation affiliated to UNESCO. Since 2019th she has been certified of manufacturing puppetry arts and crafts issued by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Serbia.
In the past she worked as a translator, proofreader, designer, artist, performer, children's and puppet animator.
Formerly a member of the street theater, children and puppet animator groups (“Cirkus sfera” and “Čigra igra”).
Nikolina is president and one of the founders of the Association Eco spiral where is responsible for the implementation of environmental workshops for children and youths, old puppetry, Mosaic Theater, the official training of educators and teachers in the field of environmental creativity for children, as well as writing and translating. Within the Association Eco Spiral, she`s been working on a project of raising sustainable households in Vrdnik (Fruska Gora, Vojvodina) in the period from 2013th to 2017th, for which they got United Nations recognition for 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.
She`s founder and performer of Mosaic Theater (2012.) traveling ecological theater, which deals with the preservation of the original folk narrative (fairy tales, legends), old puppetry, storytelling and ecological approach to the arts and crafts. Nikolina performed four puppet plays: Snow white (Russian fairy tale), Magic Wand (by Vladimir Sutejev), The Tale of Swan (by Desanka Maksimović), Goldilocks and the Three Bears (folk fairy tale), two performances of shadow theater: Child and nature (by own author`s text) and Three butterflies (folk fairy tale) and numbers of experimental projects and workshops. Currently occupied by working on an animated movie Snow White (Russian fairy tale), in cooperation with a group of authors (Vorky team, Ruma).
She describes herself in one word: Creativity.
Nikolina is married, mother of two child...
